# Syntax error – popup not working

 * Hi guys,
 * Just installed the latest release of the wordpress popup (never installed an 
   earlier version) but the popup is not coming.
 * Looking at the console on the page where it should appear ([http://www.veltion.be/veltion-is-gelanceerd/](http://www.veltion.be/veltion-is-gelanceerd/)),
   it throws an JS syntax error: illegal character on next line:
 * “if (script.readyState && script.onload!==null){“
 * Any ideas?

 * Do you not get the error if PopUp is disabled?
 * What is the loading method? Can you try Page Footer or Custom Load? Go to Pop
   Overs > Settings to alter this.
