 * I am getting the following message when I try to open my site, [http://www.edit30.com&#8230](http://www.edit30.com&#8230);
 * Parse error: syntax error, unexpected T_OBJECT_OPERATOR in /home/content/r/m/
   m/rmmiles/html/edit30/wp-content/plugins/w3-total-cache/lib/W3/Db.php on line
   190
 * and I have not clue what this means and, therefore, how to fix it.
 * Can anyone help, please?
 * RM Miles

 * [FTP](http://codex.wordpress.org/FTP_Clients) into your site (or use whatever
   file management application your host provides) and rename the wp-content/plugins/
   w3-total-cache folder to wp-content/plugins/w3-total-cache-old.

 * esmi,
 * pardon my ignorance, but I don’t seem to have the file you mention. The closet
   I can come to it is:
 * wp-content > plugins > w3-total-cache > wp > content > then there are other files
   but none for
 * any guidance?
 * Thanks in advance

 * okay, got it renamed, so that takes that directory out of action. Don’t I have
   to put a new similar directory in its place?
    And I am still getting the error
   stating…
 * W3 Total Cache Error: some files appear to be missing or out of place. Please
   re-install plugin or remove /home/content/r/m/m/rmmiles/html/edit30/wp-content/
   advanced-cache.php.
 * sorry for being a pain

 * The following have been accomplished
 * wp-content/plugins/w3-total-cache folder to wp-content/plugins/w3-total-cache-
   old
    and
 * Rename the wp-content/advanced-cache.php file to wp-content/advanced-cache.php.
   old
 * and the error message I get is:
 * Parse error: syntax error, unexpected T_OBJECT_OPERATOR in /home/content/r/m/
   m/rmmiles/html/edit30/wp-content/plugins/w3-total-cache/lib/W3/Db.php on line
   190
 * REALLY appreciate your help with this!

 * Ok – let’s approach this from another direction. Download a fresh copy of the
   plugin, unzip the archive and upload the plugin’s folder to wp-content/plugins.
   Then rename wp-content/advanced-cache.php.old back to wp-content/advanced-cache.

 * Had to be away for a while.
    Thanks, but I have no idea which plugin is causing
   the problem. Can I delete them from the directory on the server? r

    I decided to manually delete db.php and, amazingly, that worked. I don’t
   know what plugin that was associated with, do you? Important because I don’t
   EVER want to download it again. If you know, please pass the name along. thanks
   for your patience. r

 * rmmiles,
    can you help me with a similar problem? I am getting this message:
   Parse error: syntax error, unexpected T_OBJECT_OPERATOR in /usr/local/pem/vhosts/
   261894/webspace/siteapps/134602/htdocs/wp-content/plugins/w3-total-cache/lib/
   W3/Db.php on line 190
 * but when I go into wp-content/plugins – I can’t find one that says w3-total-cache.
   The only one I had was askimet so I deleted that but nothing happened. Thanks.
