Synrtax for customfield

I am not clear about the shortcode syntax for displaying customfields.

I am using this but nothign is dispalyed:

[catlist catname name =’communities’ numberposts=1 customfield_display=”Content author” customfield_display=’content-author’ customfield_display_name=yes]

“Content author” is the field label; ‘content-author’ is the slug.

I am not sure when to use speech marks, or single quotes, or none at all.

Also, I can’t figure out how to use custom_display_name_glue.

I have tried several combinations of the above but nothing seems to work.

Perhaps some more examples in the instructions would help (though they are better than many that come with some plugins).

Any advice appreciated.
