We have 3 roles (member, instructor, trainer).

The member role is synced to the WP role subscriber by default – but we do not have the two custom UM roles synced to any WP role. Our default registration page is set to make people who sign up “members”, and then we’d go in and manually change their role by hand.

Anyways, when we manually change a members role to trainer, for some reason it doesn’t show in the directory (even though trainers should). So, when I go into the role editor for trainer and try to bulk sync, the page just reloads to a blank page.

Viewing the network tool I see the get request for um_mass_sync but nothing is returned. The AJAX request never receives any data back from the server.

It’s weird because, if we manually create a user in the backend of WordPress then when we change their community role they will show in the directory. But, if a user signs up from the registration form and first becomes a member, when we manually change their role they do not appear in the directory.

    Figured it out. Holy christmas.

I had the directory set to display users by last login. Well, these users had never logged in before so they weren’t showing. HA!
