• Hello,

I am going to design a WordPress site for our training company. We currently have our website and emails hosting by a UK based company that designed and built a website for us (not a WP site).

I have a domain name I purchased and want to use. I also know I have to do a 301 re-direct from my ‘old site’ to my new one, but who performs that action? I am trying to totally disengage from my current provider. Do they (forever more) have to perform the re-direct function? What about my email account (which is the same domain name as our main website – i.e. name@company.com)?

They way our website is currently set up is we have our company name.com with a 301 re-direct to a keyword rich domain which is a .co.uk account (i.e. http://www.company.com currently re-directs to http://www.keywordrich.co.uk)

Can I just build my WP site and have the last step by all of the 301’ing?

    I hope this makes sense.

Thanks for the advice! I know if parallels some of my other posts.

    Cheers,

    Dave
