    Hi @dreampress,

    The function “Admin Change Payment Method” is not yet integrated into the Mollie plugin, but our developers are investigating how we could implement it.
    There are no concrete short-term plans yet, but we would like to see it happen.
    Currently, customers can only change their subscription payment method when an automatic renewal failed.

    The list you mentioned is maintained by WooCommerce and might not contain all payment solutions that work with the Subscriptions plugin, but we will try to get this sorted.

    Hi there,

    We are really getting bugged by our clients who ask us how a customer can change their payment method in WooCommerce Subscriptions. They just can not understand that is not an option. Also because they see it in Stripe.

    And like you said there is an option to do it, but that requires to Fail a renewal. That is hardly an serious option.

    Can it not be as simple to give the option sooner or force it as admin or customer?

    Hope you can help, this is driving people nuts. Many many thanks in advance for the reply.

    The feature for “customer/admin change payment method” is still on our to-do list. We have it documented internally but did not yet have the chance to integrate it.
    I will ask around to see what our plans are in this regard.

    Hi Niklas, thanks for letting me know.

    I really hope you guys can make this work. Customers call to ask how they can use a new card or payment method and now there is no option. The calls are time consuming. And the solution we can give is one customers do not understand.

    We are just setting up our Membership Subscription service, and this is the first roadblock we just hit. We have existing members, and we had planned on requesting that they login go their new account portal (/my-account/) and add a new payment method.

    From what I’m reading, that’s not going to work; however, in our tests, when a customer toggles ON the “auto-renew” toggle, a popup appears asking them to add a payment method.

    What are we missing?

    Hi @dreampress,

    The “admin change payment method” feature is available in the latest version 7.0.3.
    So as the store owner, you can change the payment method in the existing subscription. When the user makes a new renewal payment with the selected payment method, then a new mandate will be created for the payment method and used for subsequent renewals.
    The part for the customer to change the payment method from the frontend is still in development and will come a bit later.

    We don’t have a step-by-step guide, but I made an example video for you:

    When you change the payment method from the subscription admin, the buyer can pay the next renewal with the newly set payment method.
    I made an early renewal in the video, but it would work the same way if you create a pending renewal order.
    All available Mollie payment methods could be used for the manual payment. The benefit of this feature is for the shop manager to specify which payment method is used for automatic renewal payments. Once the user made a payment, you can switch between the methods, and the renewals will process with the selected payment method.

    Once the “customer change payment method” feature is added, the user can then change the payment method for the subscription from the my-account section without you having to specify which one should be used for renewal payments.
