Support » Fixing WordPress » Switching Paths (so index.php does not go back to root)

  • Hi,

I just installed WP on my Mac OX Jaguar system for local use while I play with it for a while.

My directory for WP is ~/wordpress/
but when I click on links, they go back to my localhost directory, resulting in a 404.

I don’t know if this is something I need to change in Apache or WordPress. I know what mod rewriting *is* but I’m afraid I have very limited knowledge of how to use it. Or, if it is something I need to take care of in WP, where would the configuration be to change the root path?

    Thanks in advance,

    johnny 🙂

  • In the database, table ‘wp_options’

Check the ‘siteurl’ and ‘home’ values.

Thanks podz for your quick reply. 🙂

I opened the database in YourSQL and took care of it there, everything works fine now.

    Happy New Year,

    johnny 🙂
