Switching Hosts and WordPress

    I’m a total n00b at this so please bear with me. I’m looking for a host right now and some offer WordPress as part of their hosting package. Which is great but what happens if you want to switch hosts? How easy would it be to transfer your entire site over to another host if that new host doesn’t offer WordPress but they will allow you to install it?

    I know that this is not something that guys just starting up normally ask but I like to consider all of the angles before jumping in. Thanks!

    It’s very easy to move 🙂
    I have a guide on my site, others have guides as does Codex.

    You go with who you want.
    Having said that, there are good hosts and bad hosts regardless of what they saw on their shiny front pages.

    Copy this to google:
    site:wordpress.org/support/ good host
    for some threads of interest.

    Heyyyy…thanks for the very quick response and the guide on your blog! I’m glad to hear that it’s so easy to do. I’ve got a couple of Canadian candidates for webhosting at the moment so fingers crossed on that.
