Switch visual editor to non default tab?

  • I switched off the visual editor because it all to often murmbled some of my code inside it. However, most posts are just “plain” so it would be handy to use it for these.

I was thinking … is it possible to make it so that when I enter the edit post screen that the non visual editor is default and then click a button/tab and that only then the visual editor appears, so for the posts with which i WANT to edit with the visual editor?

  • I can offer no help on this, except to say that this exact same thing has been on my “wish-list” for a long time.

Maybe a stupid question but how can I submit this as a change request to the WordPress Team? It would solve an awful lot of things e.g. we can edit php etc… without problems and if we want to go wysiwyg only then switch.
