Switch to user from frontend

Hi,

In my home page (for example), I generate the following url :

$url = \user_switching::maybe_switch_url( get_userdata( $this->user_id ) );

I don’t feel like it works.
Looking at the code, I wonder if switching users doesn’t only work from the wp-admin ?
