# Switch from HTTP to HTTPS

 * I recently attempted to make the switch from http to https, as I will lose my
   rankings with Google come October if I don’t. I had my hosting provider make 
   the switch, but I lost all of my comments and still don’t have the green padlock.
   They had me try a search and replace plugin, which still didn’t work.
 * They then looked at the site again and saw that the database was still set to
   http and I needed to contact the developers of the theme.
 * I am really, really hoping there is a way to fix this because losing all of my
   comments would be devastating, and to lose my ranking as well.
 * Please advise! Thank you!

    are you using a third party service for your comment system, like 
   Disqus? I can see in some cases comments showing correctly, but not in older 
   articles. If you switch to the default WordPress comment system does this persist?

 * Hi there. I am actually using Disqus. If I switch to the WordPress comment system
   does that mean I can’t go back to Disqus? Although I know it’s a hotly debated
   topic, I still prefer it to the WP comment system.

    Disqus seems to be currently customized for http and not https, If
   you do not want the original WordPress comment sustem Please have a look this
