Support » Plugin: Newsletter & Marketing Automation - AcyMailing » switch from acymailing-plugin at old joomla-website to wordpress

  • Resolved mauerbauerwordpress

    we’ve been running our old website with joomla and used the acymailing for joomla-plugin there (the paid version).
    our new website is built on wordpress and we want to use the newsletter-plugin furthermore.

    how can we switch the joomla-plugin-license to a wordpress-plugin-one?

    I highly recommend you to do it on a testing site first and make a backup before starting.
    To switch from a Joomla site to a WordPress site, you can follow these steps:

    1 – Install the latest version of AcyMailing on your Joomla site (currently v5.10.10 or v6.3.1)
    2 – Import the AcyMailing database tables from your Joomla site’s database to the one for your WordPress site (don’t forget to replace the prefix in the table names)
    3 – Install AcyMailing on the WordPress website and activate it

    If you use Acy 5.x, here are some extra steps:

    4 – replace all the content of the folder WPsite/ wp-content/ plugins/ acymailing5/ media/ by the one in Jsite/ media/ com_acymailing/
    5 – Go to the AcyMailing configuration page, tab “Security” and replace the value of the “Upload folder” and “Media folder” fields by “wp-content/plugins/acymailing/media/upload”
    6 – Execute the following queries, and for each one of them don’t forget to replace “wp_” by the real prefix if it is different:

    DELETE FROM wp_acymailing_config WHERE namekey LIKE “acl_%”;
    UPDATE wp_acymailing_template SET thumb = REPLACE(thumb, ‘media/com_acymailing’, ‘wp-content/plugins/acymailing/media’);
    UPDATE wp_acymailing_template SET access = ‘all’ WHERE access != ‘none’;
    UPDATE wp_acymailing_list SET access_sub = ‘all’ WHERE access_sub != ‘none’;
    UPDATE wp_acymailing_fields SET access = ‘all’ WHERE access != ‘none’;
    UPDATE wp_acymailing_mail SET thumb = REPLACE(thumb, ‘media/com_acymailing’, ‘wp-content/plugins/acymailing/media’);
    UPDATE wp_acymailing_subscriber SET userid = 0;

    If you had the v5 and want to use the latest version (v6), you can just import the tables in the WP site, install AcyMailing 6 then use the migration tool available upon plugin activation.

    Have a nice day
