    <embed src=”channel_zero.swf” quality=”high” pluginspage=”” type=”application/x-shockwave-flash” width=”489″ height=”600″></embed>

    can someone tell me why this will play in dreamweaver but not when I test my blog?

    <param name="movie" value="channel_zero.swf" />

    Use the full path to the movie, like: http://whatever/channel_zero.swf

    All links should be absolute when the data can be shown on multiple URLs.

    Also, I have no idea what this:
    is. Make sure that the javascript you’re loading to define that function is actually loading correctly.

    Yo Otto42 i am testing the blog on MAMP locally and when I test the flash in dreamweaver it plays but when I test in safari or firefox it does not.

    Can I not have MAMP and test my movie locally in firefox and have it play the falsh correctly? or does it have to be uploaded to a server to play right?

    It doesn’t matter if it’s local or not, the URL must still be correct. If it’s local, then use the local URL. But use the FULL local URL.
