Swapping from ip address to live domain

    Hi all,

    My site is currently hosted on an ip address in preparation for the live url to be pointed to it. E.g. (11.11.101.111 > foo.domain.com).

    Should I simply re-point the domain, log into WordPress and update WordPress Address (URL) and Site Address (URL)?

    I would normally download the MySQL database from MySQL, however the Amazon hosting package I’m using does not have this installed and I am unfamiliar with PuTTY etc.

    I will be using a plugin to backup, but my concern is if the above procedure goes wrong it might be hard to access the plugin to restore the backup.

    Any advice is welcome.
