Unfortunately Master Slider will not support svg at all. I use it a lot and have not even noticed due to the extensive options with Master Slider, but just had a play and noticed that you cannot use them at all.
This is not directly related to my plugin as such, it is Master Slider not accepting SVG files.
Also, I hope you understand what my plugin does… At it’s core, it enables you to upload and use SVG files within your site like normal images… adding the class to the IMG tag will then swap out the IMG code with the actual SVG XML code, allowing you to target elements within the SVG. To simply upload SVG files and use them in posts, you don’t need to do anything other than set their width and height dimensions in the attributes of the IMG tag (using text editor, not visual).
I’m currently working on the next release of this plugin to fix some display issues in the media gallery and a few additions and changes, so will look further into Master Slider compatibility.
May I ask what you want achieve exactly in Master Slider using SVG files? I am interested and may be able to offer an alternative.

Ha. I was about to attempt SVG use within Master Slider myself. Googled, and landed here. ack. 🙂
Ben, I’m hoping to use SVG anims (small) in MS, because I’m creating layered scenes (parallaxed PNG images) and since background video files will NOT run on mobile, I’m hoping some subtle SVG anims will nicely complement the lack of vid bgs on mobile.
In case you were wondering about the use of SVG within a slider…

I have had a good look into it and talked with the devs of master slider… I don’t think we’re going to see support for it anytime real soon unfortunately.
Hopefully if I get enough time, I can dig through their code and write an extension to allow the use of SVG in master slider.
Still no update or progress on this issue unfortunately 🙁
I love Masterslider, so it’s a shame.
