Sure fire way to get tell if my update is working

    I may just be too stupid for this rss stuff, but i am ready to pull my hair out. I have been searching and reading for two days straight minus alittle bit of sleep.
    What is a good way to tell if my blog is working.

    I want to make an entry and then go SOMEWHERE and see that it has pinged(updated) and ANYSERVICE has picked up the changes. Most recently i have been trying to see my yahoo update! I have http://api.my.yahoo.com/rss/ping?u=http://wpusers.idesignpages.com as the only entry in my update box. I have made more recent entries but myyahoo still only shows posts from 1 hour ago, nothing newer.

    get rid of the yahoo thing, use the above ?
    They ping loads.

    Well,
    I had pingomatic in there by default but anywhere i went i could not find my posts. This is a two stage process isnt it. If i use pingomatic where is the most immediate service to look for updates and the same for pingoat where can i look to see that it happened. I am trying to troubleshoot my wordpress install and I have yet to determine if the update is even working. thanks so much for the help!!

    I have now tried pingoat also. I do not think wordpress is pinging. Somebody please help with this. I am at your mercy. I am a bit warped and i cant put something down til it is fixed, but my weekend is almost up!!

    does this have any thing to do with removing the feed: from a php file. If so which one i did not find it in the footer file.
