• I contacted Wordfence support when one of my clients reported they were receiving a message saying they had been blocked from my site:

    Excerpt of error message:

    Your access to this site has been limited

    Your access to this service has been temporarily limited. Please try again in a few minutes. (HTTP response code 503)

    Reason: Access from your area has been temporarily limited for security reasons.

    Solution:

    Tim at Wordfence support answered within a few hours, and gave me an immediate solution to avoid it happening again. In short, my client was accessing the site through a proxy in country that I had blocked, even though she lives in the same country as myself which is not blocked. This is how her workplace computer network was configured. The solution was to block access to login page only, but not the full site. Blocking country still remains in place, but it is only the login page that can’t be accessed.
