    I've followed the tutorials and support forums but styling of form is just not working on the Modern Portfolio theme from StudioPress.
    see http://mostcomfortableshoes.com

    I'm using Title, Text to Show, First Name, Last Name, Email Input and Button Text field, but only Email input and sign up button are showing.

    Thanks for your help,

    Drew

    I just realized that the elements are all there, but text is white on a white background so it doesn't show up. How do I create the black bounding box for the sidebar?

    Hi Drew,

    I didn't get an e-mail notification of this one, so sorry for the delay. I'll get you a response later this morning/early afternoon.

    Cheers!

    Hi Drew,

    A couple of things to get the form working:
    * Change the form action field to remove the { }. The tutorial that user made meant those as just a quotation tool.
    * Change the e-mail field name to just email (if that doesn't work, just Email )
    * Add a first name field with the name of "name" (without quotes) or change the hidden field meta_required to just value="email"

    Onto your actual question, in style.css, you can add:

    .enews {
    background: #000000; [or whatever hex color of your choice]
    padding: 10px; [increase it to increase the space between the content and the edge of the box]
    }

    Another option is to use the CSS provided in modern porfolio as shipped:

    .enews {
    background-color: #222;
    margin-bottom: 8px;
    margin-bottom: 0.75rem;
    padding: 32px;
    padding: 2rem;
    }

    as seen at http://demo.studiopress.com/modern-portfolio/threaded-comments/

    Thanks Brandon for the response.
    I added both CSS options above to style.css but still no dice.
    the background is still white and the fields seem very wide.

    I am trying to replicate the look of the sign up box here:

    Hi Drew,

    For whatever reason, the support forums aren't notifying me of your responses.

    Add another } to line 1631 of your style.css (a second one). That section is responsive, so there's a whole check of CSS included in a @media {

    The CSS you pasted got included in that, so if you reduce your window to less than 480, you'll send it render as you want it. Adding a second } clears it up.

    Cheers

    that seems to have added a black background, but text alignment has no padding and input fields are too wide

    line 1631, not 1639.

    I've been reading through the tutorials and forums, but still not finding the answer I'm needing. Not sure if this is the right place to post, but the Modern Portfolio theme by StudioPress on my site is not formatting correctly.

    See: peopleplaceorthings.com

    The 3 categories (people, place or things) are not lining up, but instead stacking in a funky way. How do I line them up correctly?

    Hi Tyler,

    I'm not sure what you're referring to. I don't see an instance of the plugin installed on the site, so this is likely an issue you can take to the StudioPress support forums at http://studiopress.com.

    Hello
    I am using the Modern Portfolio child theme and am having difficulty changing body text colour. Seems pretty basic but very frustrating that options are there for chasing Header text and Background but nothing else. Have been through the tutorials but cant see the wood for the trees. Any help much appreciated!

    Many Thanks in advance

    Cheers

    Richard

    Hi Richard,

    Are you referring to the actual body text on the site itself or within the eNews Extended plugin?

    If the former, this particular forum is only for the Genesis eNews Extended plugin. The forums for Genesis and StudioPress Genesis child themes can be found at http://studiopress.com/

    If you're referring to an instance of the eNews Extended widget, please include a link to your site where the widget is visible.

    Thanks!
