Support » Plugin: Easy Google Fonts » Support for Japanese / Chinese subsets?

  • I’ve installed Easy Google Fonts, but cannot find the correct foriegn language fonts that I need to display.

When I check this site – https://www.google.com/get/noto/ – I can see “Noto” is a san-serif font with many foreign language subsets and weights, including…

    – Noto Sans CJK JP (Japanese)
    – Noto Sans CJK SC (Simplified Chinese)
    – Noto Sans CJK TC (Traditional Chinese)

(Click the dot on Japan to activate the Japanese font alternatives, and you’ll see Noto as an option. Same for the dots on Hong Kong.)

When I select “Vietnamese” from your “Script / Subset” control, I do see this font listed…

    – Noto Sans

However, there are no subset selections available such as JP, SC, or TC (listed above.) Also, “Noto” only affects the ENGLISH letter characters in my copy. It does not change the font of ANY of the Japanese or Chinese characters.

    How can I get…

    1. The foreign font subsets listed above as selection options?
    2. All of the Google font weight options (100-900)
    3. The foreign character fonts to display in the selected Google font?

    Thank you.

    Hi klynam,
Currently the google fonts api does not allow you to retrieve Japanese and Chinese script fonts. The only way you could integrate that don’t with our plugin would be to add it manually via actions and filters. You would need to know php in order to do this. Read this thread for instructions on how to do this. Cheers

    Sunny
