    @codebykat

This is on the list for the next (currently in-progress) version, yes! https://github.com/codebykat/wp-post-by-email/issues/15

There’s a PR already done that gets us most of the way there, I think, but needs some testing before it can be merged in. https://github.com/codebykat/wp-post-by-email/pull/16

Thats great! Shall I clone it and test or contribute?

    PR?

Oh, whoops, I misremembered — that PR (pull request) is for post *formats*, not post types. Apologies for the confusion, I was triaging a bunch of issues/support requests and confused myself.

So, it’s on the list for the upcoming version, but I haven’t gotten there yet. I would definitely appreciate beta testing once I do — I’m in the midst of something else at the moment, but I will answer your email within a couple of days and we can talk about the schedule. I can also give you instructions on how to install and test the beta version of the plugin.

Okay, thanks Kat. I’ll standby regarding your email. Thanks!

+1, please let me know, when this is happening.
im planning a submit form on a website, that generates custom post types. would be grrrreat, if this works.
(+ i am willing to test as well)

Curious — has this been made available? Seems like a great feature which we would need before using.

    hi kingkong

i used https://wordpress.org/plugins/frontend-uploader/ to do exactly that..

    cheers

    Hi JNZ31,

Except that doesnt have any hooks to accept the content via EMAIL, does it?

@ jnz31 actually that Plugin isn’t what this post is about. This post is about emailing content not uploading it on the front end.

And no progress has been made on this yet, but it looks like development may begin within 45 days. My staff and I have decided to hire Kat or another developer to create it but we have to raise the funds first – which we believe will arrive in about 6 weeks.

I await this feature with bated breath 🙂

Before WordPress 3.7, the publish_phone hook allowed you to override the default Post post-type for your own custom post-type. (Though I hadn’t tested it fully.)

We just got funding for this so this project is on! Should have a beta in about 30 days.

Hi, is the project on its way?

Unfortunately the project has been postponed. We lost our lead developer shortly after we got funding and had to pause the project. We just hired a new lead developer and got caught up on our workload so we expect to re-start developing in the next 30-60 days.

Thank you for your reply! Let us know if you need any help in developing or beta testing 😉

Could you please also let us know when you’re ready to launch a new version including CPT by updating this ticket?

    Good luck developing!
