Super cache settings…
-
Hi,
1. “Make known users anonymous so they’re served supercached static files.”
>> What does this mean and what’s the advantage/disadvantage of making known users anonymous compared to NOT making them anonymous? By the way, how does “Don’t cache pages for known users” fit with this option at the same time – they sound like doing totally opposite things at the same time?!2. “Compress pages so they’re served more quickly to visitors.”
>> I am using Autoptimize. Will turning this option on conflict with that plugin?3. ” Mobile device support”
>> My theme is already fully responsive and mobile-friendly. Do I still need that external plugin? Will supercache turn my mobile-compatible theme uncompatible?4. “Change the location of your cache files….. unless directory indexes are disabled it is probably better to store the cache files outside of the web root of /home/…./public_html/”.
>> Where else can I store the cache files outside of the web root of /home/…./public_html/”?
>> I read somewhere that nothing should be stored in the “/wp-content/cache/” folder because they will get deleted automatically – but I can see quite a number of files and folders already exist there, including – autoptimize, blogs, meta, supercache, .htaccess and index.html. What do I do with these?5. I have bbPress forum as part of my WP site. Will SuperCache cache it and do you think I should exclude the forum from being cached – by adding strings in the appropriate settings box to force it not to be cached?
6. “Refresh preloaded cache files every…. minutes.”
>> What should be the ideal time? After creating my pages, most of them are going to remain unchanged and static in most cases, apart from the bbPress forums and topics. So, what should be the optimal preload interval time?Regards.
