• Hi,

I’ve only just come across this, so haven’t tested extensively, however thought I’d start a thread…

I had a site fail with whitescreen after a theme update (performed by client). I had a look and WP Super Cache was causing 500 errors. So, I removd WP Supe Cache and cleaned up all files etc manually (cleared wp-config.php, .htaccess etc). This brought the site back up and all was good. Then I tried reinstating WP Super Cache.

I installed WP SC 1.5.1 and set up seemed to go fine, however updating the rewrite rules would fail (Update Rewrite Rules button clicked, confirmation message, but on re-load, the ‘rules need updating’ message returns). (Manually checked file, so changes…)

I manually added the rules and WP SC 1.5.1 seems to work fine, but for some reason writing to the .htaccess file is not working. I’ve never had a problem with this before, and I’ve checked all plugins and server config, file permissions (iThemes Security etc) and there’s nothing that should block writing to those files.

I then rolled back WP SC to version 1.4.9 and all works perfectly as before, including writing of rewrite rules to .htaccess.

So, it would seem that 1.5.1 has trouble writing to .htaccess in some cases?
