 * Hello,
 * I have installed my own WP and afterwords I’ve changed to Multisite WP.
 * Eventhough I did not become SUPER ADMIN and I can access the Network Administration.
 * Any hints about how to solve this issue, please?
 * Thanks
 * Naira

 * If you can access network admin pages, you’re the superadmin. Why do you think
   you’re not?

 * Hi Ipstenu,
 * Thank you for your answer.
 * I am sorry I wrote wrong. I meant I CANNOT but I wrote I ‘can’ and I cannot access
   the Network Administration yet.
 * I verified the configured files, .htaccess and config.php and are all right.

   Files are in the right places and this is not my first time installing it. I
   also do not have subdomains to make it easier.
 * I suppose it ‘s a problem at the hosting….???
    Many thanks
 * Naira

 * Hello Ipstenu,
 * Thank you for your reply and link.

 * **Naira – What was your fix, please? (!)**
 * I have the same problem…a plugin changed I don’t know what.
    I am the only user.
   I have had the MultiSite installs (2) for months before the changes.
 * **The result of the plugin changes:**
    Changed default login to username/adm (
   mine was my name) password/? I had to backend change password. I have no access
   to core network install/update plugins, themes, WP. I cannot even see any plugins–
   not present in any admin menu.
 * **My attempt to fix:**
    Per [http://halfelf.org/2013/recovering-your-cape/](http://halfelf.org/2013/recovering-your-cape/)
   The part that pertains to me:
 * > “Super Admin access is less straightforward, but by no means is it impossible.
   > Go into wp_sitemeta and look for site_admins.
   > In there you will see something
   > like this: a:1:{i:0;s:7:”Ipstenu”;} If your userID is ‘superman’ then it would
   > be a:1:{i:0;s:8:”superman”;} Capitalization and stringlength matter. Add one
   > user, and use that to correctly restore power to the others.
   > Can you do this via WP-CLI? Yes, if you’re on the latest versions. Kind of.
   > You can get a list of super admins via wp network-meta get 1 site_admins and
   > in theory wp network-meta update 1 site_admins USERNAME would work except that
   > the data is serialized. I [opened a ticket with WP-CLI](http://wordpress.org/support/topic/network-super-admin-missing-in-dashboard?replies=3#post-4381522),
   > and it’s a ‘plugin territory’ issue right now, so I’ll have to see if I can
   > code it myself.”
 * Me: I also read [http://wordpress.org/support/topic/network-super-admin-missing-in-dashboard?replies=3#post-4381522](http://wordpress.org/support/topic/network-super-admin-missing-in-dashboard?replies=3#post-4381522)

   _I ran a search – I have no file called wp\_sitemeta_
 * **Question: If there is no file called wp_sitemeta, what does that indicate?
   Does this article still apply to me?**
 * **Note:** I am not tech savy – I will leave the heavy stuff for my host tech
   support. I don’t want to burden them if there is an issue that cannot be fixed
   or is not addressed in these article/thread.

 * wp_sitemeta is a table in your database, not a file!

 * Oh! Thank you! Time for Host Tech Support.
 * Thank you big time!
 * I hope the info in the article, not the thread, is sufficient. It is not their
   job to fix my WP install – but they do it anyway.

 * Hello tools4toni
 * I just read your message.
 * I dont’know if you have solved your problem but I will tell my solution in a
   couple of woods.
 * After installing the WP Multisite through config.php and .htaccess, I uploaded
   the backed up files, database and wp files into my niew installation.
    What happened?
   The old user inside the backup overwrote the new user of my new wp installation.
   Because of that I could not get any access into Themes/Plugins at the Network
   Administration.
 * I deleted all of that mess and I re-install the wp, uploading the only files
   that had nothing to do the site administration.
 * I think the information you got earlier about wp_sitemeta and wp_admins should
   also help. I haven’t tried that.
 * Thank you
 * Naira
