Summer of Code: Photo Grouping

    I was just reading the WP blog and came across this post concerning Summer of Code.

    In particular I read about “Photo Grouping by Album Functionality”. I am excited to read that WP might be expanding their image/ media gallery. Is there anywhere I can read more about this?

    And can we speed things up?

    Rudolf Cheuk Sang Lai, Adding Photo Grouping by Album Functionality. This project will wind up being a piece of a larger media redux project for 2.9/3.0. Mark Jaquith is mentoring, and Noel Jackson will be a backup mentor.

    New media features are planned as part of the 2.9 release, and no, there’s no real way to speed up the summer of code… their schedule is based on a full summer of participation as set by Google. If you would like to help with the development of new media features for 2.9, however, there will be more than just the GSoC project, and you are welcome to volunteer to develop some portion of it.
