Suitable theme for catalogue type site

    I am a dealer in used plant, equipment and trucks. I am looking for a theme which would be suitable to display many images and accompanying descriptions for my stock. This would not be an e commerce site, more a reference where users could check what stock I have. Possibly “cells” for each item. Mobile responsive would be good.

    All we can suggest is that you browse the themes in http://wordpress.org/themes/
    Any additional functionality that you need may be added via plugins.

    All WP themes could do that already. This’s more on the how to use WP in general.

    This is how you plan on site structure. Using post, tag, category, page, sup-page, and sometimes custom content type and taxonomy, to organize your site content.

    Possibly “cells” for each item.

    This is the last step which is how you plan to make the site navigation. Main menu, archive page display and such. Themes that display archive in grid usually are themes that tagged photography.
