Suggestion:Option for Full Article or Excerpt in WordPress Core

I’d like to suggest that WordPress core add an option to display the full article text or just the post summary (excerpt). A lot of themes have this option, but a lot don’t as well and this setting should be universal.

It should be dead simple to implement as well, since this option already exists for the RSS feeds.
