• Hello,

After an unpleasant experience that I had with a plugin which had good overall rating, I was wondering if it would be better for the end user to only see the most recent reviews / ratings of a plugin.

I mean, some plugins might be good at the beginning but for one reason or another became problematic afterwards. Of course they would get their negative reviews, but if the previous positive ones were too many, the overall score would still seem reassuring to the user.

What I am suggesting is to display e.g. the reviews / ratings of the last year on first view and with a discreet link the user could have the option to see the older ones too.

Another related suggestion is to stop counting plugin updates as Downloads. If a plugin get’s updated very often it seems to have much more downloads than those it really has, which creates a false impression about it’s popularity.

Rating and popularity are the basic criteria for the selection of a plugin and I believe that the above suggestions would give a more accurate view of a plugin’s value.
