    Hi all at Sunshine,

I know there have been several request for adding TAX to the prices before reaching the Checkout.

I think i have come up with an easy fix if you can implement it.

The way it works right now the prices contain no tax and tax is calculated and added at checkout.
But in the end it all comes out to how the invoice is done.

If you add a “reverse TAX calculation option” in the setup the users might just enter prices with tax already added and then let Sunshine calculate in reverse at checkout… (Hard to explain look at example below!)

    Assuming tax at 5%

    US tax setup:

    Item1 price 10$
    Item2 price 20$
    Subtotal 30$
    Tax added: 1.50$

Customer pays total with tax: (10+20)*1.05 = 31.50$

EU tax setup where tax is already on the price:
    Item1 price with tax 10.50$
    Item2 price with tax 21.00$

On invoice the reverse calculation is done:
    Item1 price ex tax: 10.50/1.05 = 10$
    Item2 price ex tax: 21/1.05 = 20$
    Subtotal 30$
    Tax added: 1.50$
Customer pays total with tax: (10+20)*1.05 = 31.50$

The only difference is how the item price is shown on the invoice!
    Hope this can work…

  • Version 2…

Even easier the invoice may just add all the items with tax and then calculate the amount the tax represents of the total.

EU tax setup where tax is already on the price:
    Item1 price with tax 10.50$
    Item2 price with tax 21.00$

On invoice the amounts is with tax:
    Item1 price with tax: 10.50$
    Item2 price with tax: 21$
    Subtotal with tax 31.50$
Of the subtotal the tax amounts to: 1.50$
Customer pays total with tax: 31.50$

So the tax line is mainly informational.

Thanks for the suggestions. This is something I am actively working on to include soon. It is at the top of my priority list.
