This is a suggestion for the developers. Have the plugin remove the glut of rewrite rules it adds to the database, when the plugin is uninstalled.

I already had a page called ‘Events’, before I started testing out this plugin. It automatically took over this page and when I uninstalled it, the page was completely hosed (showing the homepage content, instead of my Events page content).

I had to go into PHPmyAdmin, find the rewrite rules and remove the block of rules it added manually.

Hey batfan, thanks for the note here. This raises a good point; we’ve been kicking around ideas about adding uninstall functionality lately…we don’t do much of that now (it seems like lots of plugins don’t) but your post has got it back on center stage. Since we’re working hard on 3.0 now we’re going to discuss incorporating this at some point during that lifecycle.

Thanks for bringing this up. Once any plan is solidified we’ll definitely make it publicly known. Sorry the plugin didn’t meet your needs otherwise.

No worries. It was just more than I needed for this particular project. We went with FullCalendar instead.

Thanks for looking into this, though.

Bummer to hear The Events Calendar didn’t meet your needs for this project, but I’m glad to know you found a solution that did the trick instead. Hopefully we can get this incorporated for an upcoming release to lure you back sometime in the future. Cheers!
