After the most recent update, the suggested tags function (either local tags or Open Calais) is not working. I’m running the Classic Editor plugin, so I’m not using Gutenberg.

I’ve tested it on old and new posts.

The gears at the right just spin and no tags are ever displayed.

I’m in the exact same situation and have the same problem. For some strange reason, my previous reply to this, which included browser console errors, was deleted.

Confirmed that regressing back to 2.4.7 solves the problem.

Have the same problem here. Using classic editor. All I get is a spinning gear, even on local tags.

Same here and using classic editor.

Same here again using the classic editor.

In my case version 2.4.7 doesn’t solve the problem – but as soon as I deactivate Yoast SEO, versions 2.4.7 AND the latest version 2.5.1 work fine.

There is actually an error in the browser console, which is related to Simple Tags:

Thanks, the latest release 2.5.2 solves my problem.

Yep, sure looks like it. @ucallrt this thread should be marked as resolved.

Fixes it for me too, but I have another problem now where when I edit a post in Quick Edit, all tags are removed when updating a post, regardless of what I changed (add/remove a tag, changing publish date, etc).

Can you guys check/confirm if this is an issue with the latest version?

Yes, confirming that moving to version 2.5.2 fixes the problem.

I think that the quick edit issue should be opened in another thread. I’m going to mark this one as resolved.

On my website the problem persists. I updated to version 2.5.2 and the plugin does NOT show the suggested tag.

I use WordPress 4.9.10 (not Gutenberg).

I think the initial problem is fixed.
