Suffusion – Creating custom fields within custom templates

    Hi,
I have dual language (qtranslate) website Suffusion theme with standard layout (1 right sidebar) for most pages but I want to create a different page type (keeping sidebar just with different styling on main content) which just shows a series of small maps on the left and descriptions on the right with a link, so I created a custom layout template. No problems so far I think! Then I figured I needed a custom post type. How do I get custom fields into this plugin I suppose is my question. So when a user clicks on Maps (my custom post type) they just have 2 fields – one in the left to put a map pic in and one on the right to put in a description..in 2 languages.
Hope this post makes sense and if anyone can help..greatly appreciated.
