SuEXEC prevents site from functioning

  • I followed my hosting company’s instructions for enabling the site with SuEXEC so that it would run more securely under my username.

changing the settings which included adding these two lines to my .htaccess file:

    Action application/x-pair-sphp /cgi-bin/php5.cgi
    AddType application/x-pair-sphp .php

Everything APPEARS to work, however within the admin section NOTHING would work. I would edit my profile, no changes would take effect. Adding a post, it would reload and nothing would be added. Editing, same thing. No forms whatsoever, would work.

I had to disable the two action lines above to get the site to start working again.

Any idea as to why this would have done this?
