  • Maybe you changed your .htaccess file?

    Lucas thanks for this suggestion. I will look into the .htaccess file to see if it has any answers. I am not aware of having changed it, though maybe something changed when the WP was upgraded to an MU system for example.

    Looking into the .htaccess question. This file is in the root folder with index.php file also. I wouldn’t want to alter anything without understanding it better. But there is a niggling question for me about whether with WordPress MU the index.php file and .htaccess should still be in the root directory. I will read around to see if i can understand this better… any words of wisdom greatlfully received to this relatively novice wordpresser..

    # BEGIN WordPress
    <IfModule mod_rewrite.c>
    RewriteEngine On
    RewriteBase /
    RewriteRule ^index\.php$ – [L]
    RewriteCond %{REQUEST_FILENAME} !-f
    RewriteCond %{REQUEST_FILENAME} !-d
    RewriteRule . /index.php [L]
    </IfModule>

    # END WordPress
