suddenly not getting traffic from google

    I did a guided transfer from wp.com to wp.org three weeks ago. Two days ago, I noticed my jetpack stats page, under search engine terms, my hits were way down. I used to get refers from all kinds of search topics, but now only get refers from the search phrase “gnome lover” the name of my blog. I haven’t messed with any settings since moving, and don’t know why this would just start happening now. Any ideas?

    That’s at least partly because .COM sites get SEO benefits from being part of the .COM network. Self-hosted sites don’t have that. Are you using an SEO plugin on your new site and have you signed up with Google Webmaster Tools? Those can be helpful on a self-hosted site.

    Thanks for the quick reply! I use the yoast seo plugin, and use webmaster tools from google and bing… would it really take three weeks for the .com befits to “wear off”?
