Suddenly getting: An error occurred while processing the form. Please try again

    The error in the subject of the post occurs when users submit the form and it seems to happen reliably 100% of the time. If I look at the browser devtools, I see a 500 error on the admin-ajax.php file with a response of:

    500 Internal Server Error Internal Server Error

    The server encountered an internal error or misconfiguration and was unable to complete your request.

    Please contact the server administrator at admin@savilerowbespoke.com to inform them of the time this error occurred, and the actions you performed just before this error.

    More information about this error may be available in the server error log.

    Hi @wordyad

    I hope you are doing well today.

    Did you perform any updates on the site (plugins/theme)? Please note that each site is different, as it possibly uses different plugins or themes. In the WP repository, there are over 60,000 plugins, and some of them possibly exist on that site. Taking this into account, there is a risk of new potential conflicts after each update.

    Would you please run a conflict test? Please deactivate all plugins, apart from Forminator, and check if the problem is gone. If so, then enable all plugins one by one and find which one is having a conflict. If there is no positive result, switch to the default WordPress theme like 2019, and see if it works.

    Before this test, we recommend full site backup or running this test on the staging site.

    Thanks for the tip. So you know, it seems to be the “SMTP Mailer” plugin by Noor Alam that caused the issue.

    It’s recommended in case the issue was specifically caused by the plugin, to reach the plugin support.

    Sorry for not responding earlier, it seems to be caused by an issue with the outdoing smtp server being contactable.
