Hi I’ve been using Imagify for a while with no problems

Then I suddenly had this warning message from wordpress
    ————————
    Howdy!

Since WordPress 5.2 there is a built-in feature that detects when a plugin or theme causes a fatal error on your site, and notifies you with this automated email.

In this case, WordPress caught an error with one of your plugins, Imagify.

First, visit your website and check for any visible issues. Next, visit the page where the error was caught (/wp-login.php) and check for any visible issues.

Please contact your host for assistance with investigating this issue further.

If your site appears broken and you can’t access your dashboard normally, WordPress now has a special “recovery mode”. This lets you safely login to your dashboard and investigate further.
    —————————

I checked my site and it was completely down !!!
Said “this site is having technical difficulties

So I managed to log in in recovery mode, this was the ONLY way in, and deactivated Imagify then all worked again

What is going on, I cant re-activate it until I know its ok

In the dashboard it gave this extra warning

Version 1.9.2 | By WP Media | View details
This plugin failed to load properly and is paused during recovery mode.

An error of type E_ERROR was caused in line 13 of the file /var/www/vhosts/papersteps.co.uk/httpdocs/wp-content/plugins/imagify/inc/3rd-party/enable-media-replace/classes/Main.php. Error message: Trait ‘Imagify\Traits\FakeSingletonTrait’ not found

  • i’ve had the same thing happen twice now. if you go into the folder on the server, you’ll see that fakesingletontrait.php has been renamed fakesingletontrait.php.suspected.

If you get rid of the .suspected it will work again.

I’ve emailed about this days ago to imagify but not had a response yet 🙁

    Hi !

Thank you for your solution it worked for me too !
But I noticed this morning the same problem happened again and Imagify broke my site…

It seems it will keep happening if I don’t find a real solution. Have you had any answer from the support team ? I emailed them too, and I hope they will reply soon. For now I will deactivate Imagify on my site.

Let me know if you find a real solution.

Hmm, interesting to see its not a one off, if support don’t reply here soon I will be deleting it and going with another plugin, as I cant risk this happening again

at the moment I still have it deactivated and sitting there

    Hello everyone!

Thanks a lot for your patience.

It looks like this issue is happening because some hosts think this file is not part of Imagify, but some malicious file added by 3rd party.

It would be the best to contact your hosting provider and ask them why this file was renamed. We can do this as well, so please let us know where is your site hosted.

As soon as we get their feedback about reasons this file has been renamed, we will be able to fix it.

    Best Regards

    Hey @sebastienrenaudeau

Thanks for letting us know. Since it appears to be a problem with multiple hosting companies, we have applied a fix which will be included in the next version (will be released soon).

For the reference – it appears to be a problem with the file name, which includes “fake” word. This is going to be changed and we do not expect further issues after that.

Once again, thanks a lot for your feedback and patience – we are happy to provide further assistance if necessary.

    Wish you all the best

    Seb
