Support » Themes and Templates » Sudden Google Ads

  • Hello can anyone help me in my site.

    I’m running my site for almost 2 months now and nothing went wrong until today. If you look below my footer a big google ads suddenly showed up. It just appeared a while ago. The only google ads that i manually inserted are the one above, the one in the side bar, and the one below the small one, but never the big one.

    I tried to look on my footer.php files and nothing was added there. Can anyone help?

  • I’m getting the same thing, and I’m not sure where it came from or how to get rid of it.

    One clue: the adsense id for your invading below-footer ad is the same as the invading ad on my blog. Plus another ad appeared below *that* one a day or so ago. I’ve been searching for that adsense id or other possible identifying strings in my wp files but haven’t found it.

    Yes, I admit I was probably dumb. I put a bunch of themes up to check them out; perhaps one had some naughty code in it. Hey, I’m a newbie!

    This “ads below footer” problem persists across themes. Turning off all plugins doesn’t change things either.

    This is the code from a generated page’s view source. It appears between the closing body tag and the closing html tag.

    <div style="text-align: center;"><div style="position:relative; top:0; margin-right:auto;margin-left:auto; z-index:99999">
       <div align="center">

     /* 728x90, created 3/4/09 */
     google_ad_slot = "6772882368";
     google_ad_width = 728;
     google_ad_height = 90;

        document.write ("<scr"+"ipt type='text/javascript' src='"+m3_u);
        document.write ("?zoneid=8");
        document.write ('&amp;cb=' + m3_r);

        document.write (document.charset ? '&amp;charset='+document.charset : (document.characterSet ? '&amp;charset='+document.characterSet : ''));
        document.write ("&amp;loc=" + escape(window.location));
        if (document.referrer) document.write ("&amp;referer=" + escape(document.referrer));
        if (document.context) document.write ("&context=" + escape(document.context));
        if (document.mmm_fo) document.write ("&amp;mmm_fo=1");
        document.write ("'></scr"+"ipt>");
     //]]>--></script> </td>
             <td><script type="text/javascript">
     var gaJsHost = (("https:" == document.location.protocol) ? "https://ssl." : "http://www.");
     document.write(unescape("%3Cscript src='" + gaJsHost + "' type='text/javascript'%3E%3C/script%3E"));
       <script type="text/javascript">
     try {
     var pageTracker = _gat._getTracker("UA-6259055-7");
     } catch(err) {}</script>

    Thanks for the reply but i think i know the reasons now. My server is now forcing ads to the footer of the websites hosted by it. Grrr.. Now i need to find another good free web host
