Hello, I have multiple websites on multiple website hosts running Sucuri. I’ve noticed over the last few weeks that logging into WordPress is taking MUCH longer than it used to to take. In fact, the system has started timing out in some instances. When I turn Sucuri off then I’m able to login with no problems. Is there a setting I can change to help with this?

Is there a setting I can change to help with this?

You can turn off the “API Service Communication” from the settings page.

It may be an intermittent issue, you may want to enable it again maybe next week or so.

Thanks so much for the advice. I’ve tried this on several installations and while things may be a tiny bit faster, I feel like I have time to go and get a cup of coffee while I’m trying to log in. 🙁 Any other ideas?

Disabling the “IP Address Discoverer” option from the general settings page may also help. But this is only necessary if your web server has a misconfiguration that affects the speed of the DNS queries.

If you notice a significant difference in the speed of the website after disabling this option, I suggest you to talk with your hosting provider to address the issue on their side.
