[resolved] Success Confirmation with MailPoet (13 posts)

Hey Brandon, thanks for making this plugin!

I'm using the MailPoet plugin integration, and am wondering if there's some way to let a user know that they should check their inbox for a confirmation email.

Right now I'm when I hit "Go" (to test the functionality), the page refreshes and though I get a confirmation email, there's nothing on the website, or in the widget, that informs me/users the subscription worked and a confirmation email has been sent.

For example, when I use a MailPoet built-in form, after I enter my details the widget itself refreshes and displays "Check your inbox now to confirm your subscription."

Is there some way of doing this that I'm missing? Even if the "Go" button just sends the user to a new page to tell them to check their Inbox, this would be helpful.

Thanks for your support and keep up the good work!
    Alex

Hi Brandon, I have a similar problem...

I installed mailpoet on one client site, but when I try to subscribe I am directed to a 404 error page. And at the back end I am not registered as an subscriber...

Why do you think this is happening? I use Genesis Framework and the Going Green theme and ENewsExtended plugin for Genesis.

    Best regards

I have the same problem as bte2. The page refreshes. I receive a confirmation email to my inbox (to junk unfortunately, but ok, at least the process goes through), but as a user on my site I don't get any message that my subscription was successful. If I use MailPoet form, than I get a message Check your inbox now to confirm your subscription.

Anything we need to add within the settings? My site is http://www.frankaboutcroatia.com.

    Thanks!
    Regards,
    vera

I'm having trouble duplicating this on my end—it is displaying the message upon submit.

https://cloudup.com/cRk1pT63rMB as an example on Frank's site.

@InHuus: This sounds like a different problem. A setting in the widget sounds like may be wrong. If you have a link to your site, I can check to see if anything is obvious.

@bte2: With a link to your site, I'm happy to look further.

    Thanks a lot Brandon, it's http://paleoalchemist.com/
The top form is your plugin, the one underneath it is the MailPoet built in widget, if you want to compare.

Thanks for checking, Brandon. I noticed that the message doesn't work on Google Chrome, but it does on Firefox. Mailpoet guys tried to look into it, and told me that for them it didn't work on any browser. Can you check maybe just a Google Chrome (as it shows to me on Firefox, and also on my iphone Safari). Thanks a lot!

MailPoet has already started saving my money. Very nice work Brandon. :) However I was thinking if there is a way to show a message like "Please check your inbox and confirm your subscription". Because a lot of my visitors don't even know that they need to double opt in. Moreover if after clicking the subscribe button, nothing new appears, they probably would think my newsletter system is not properly configured. Since I did not find an option to put that little message, I had to write a bit of text in my subscription box. It probably is working, however is not the best option. Can anybody tell me how to solve this? Here is my site http://www.venusfactorreviewss.com/

I have the same Issue that bte2. I would like that direct visitor to a new page after click on the Submit button, not just refresh the page without any message.
    Thank you

The code in the widget was provided by MailPoet and that feature works for me (displaying a note to check inbox within the widget space).

There is a request to add the ability to direct to a new page with MailPoet that will likely get attention at some point: https://github.com/kraftbj/genesis-enews-extended/issues/107

    Cheers!

The issue is that after press "submit" it didn´t show any message. It refress the URL, and that´s it. So people will think that nothing happened.

I'm still working on duplicating this... it works for me on a few different sites. Once I can duplicate it, I can drill down further.
