# Subversion repository has moved

 * Looks like the svn repository has moved, so running the old command `svn sw http://
   automattic.com/wordpress/tags/2.8/ .` no longer works. Any tips on how to transition
   a svn checkout to the new URL, `http://core.svn.wordpress.org/tags/2.8/`?

 * Attempting this didn’t work:
 *     ```
       $ svn switch --relocate http://svn.automattic.com/wordpress http://core.svn.wordpress.org/
   
       $ svn switch http://core.svn.wordpress.org/tags/2.8/
       ```
   
 * It left me with a dead blog — no pages rendered. I ended up abadoning the existing
   svn “checkout”, pretending it was a “traditional” WP blog (with no svn), and
