# Subversion instructions

 * The subversion instructions indicate a different server depending on which page
   you are on. The old SVN server was
 * [http://svn.automattic.com/wordpress/tags/2.8/](http://svn.automattic.com/wordpress/tags/2.8/)
 * and the Using SVN page indicates the same. The Upgrading using SVN page indicaets
   the server name:
 * [http://core.svn.wordpress.org/tags/2.8/](http://core.svn.wordpress.org/tags/2.8/)
 * Which doesn’t automatically work with the instructions there if you have been
   using the old SVN server (at least on the server with my blog.) It was easy enough
   for me to fix it, however, you might want to indicate in the instructions what
   to do when changing the server name…

 * Just an added note, if you use automattic for your update using SVN, it totally
   screws up your wp installation.

 * Obatron, could you post some details on how you were able to “fix it”? I am in
   the same situation, trying to get Subversion to pull the files from core.svn.
   wordpress.org.
