• I would like to simply substitute our Facebook feed for the WP Posts on the home page.

We are using the Education Child Theme from Genesis and we have the Feed Them Social plugin to get the Facebook feed (which I know how to use – that’s not the problem).

There are two options in the Appearance / Customize / Static Front Page: Your latest posts -or- A static page. We currently use the first option, but would rather use our Facebook posts, so I cleverly thought to make a page with just the Facebook posts on it and then use the static page option. However, when I do that, all the other parts of the homepage (e.g. slider, widgets, etc.) disappear.

How can I drop just the WP posts from the homepage and substitute the Facebook feed?

    Thanks!

  • Custom facebook feed plugin might be what you’re looking for. Check it out.

Drop [custom-facebook-feed] into your static page and you’re all set.

This looks like a fine Facebook feed, but that really isn’t my problem.

    Thanks.

I’ve used this plugin to accomplish your goal and it didn’t remove the sidebar, etc. that you’re experiencing.

Is this plugin still causing problems? If so, it is likely a conflict with your widgets or theme.

something else just hit me. When you made the page for the plugin, do you use the default template or full-width template? Or maybe the plugin you used changes the page template to the full-width template?
