subsite keeps redirecting to network main site

    hello everyone, I recently installed wordpress multisite on a site that uses https, i successfully installed a subsite on my network. my challenge is when I try to open the subsite (www.classyish.com) on browsers and Iphones, they are redirected to the homepage of my network site (www.thesuperflashservice.com). I will appreciate a step by step guide on how to resolve this issue. thank you

    I can only tell you what your problem is, but cannot tell you how to fix it. The fix depends on your hosting provider.

    The problem is that to use https you need a certificate for each host/domain. It is possible to use a wildcard certificate for multiple hosts on the SAME domain. But if you have different domains, you need a certificate for each domain. The other problem is that you are mapping multiple named based ssl virtual hosts in your httpd service. The httpd service needs special configuration in order to handle that. What occurs is that all of your https traffic, even if you have many hosts, will all re-direct to the main site. This is what is happening to you. You can google ‘named based ssl virtual hosts’ to find out more details.

    If you need to have multiple hosts with different domains & https/ssl, then there are only two solutions I know of. You have to have IP address for each domain that needs https OR your service provider has to support ‘Server Name Indication’.
