    Hello,

    On our website we are using this plugin for our Woocommerce payments. Now we also want to offer a subscription to our customers.

    On your plugin page we read the following: “Compatible with WooCommerce Subscriptions for recurring payments (credit card, iDEAL, SEPA Direct Debit and more)”

    But whenever we try to add a subscription product and try to pay with iDEAL we get an error message. In the logs we found the following message:
    "DEBUG mollie_wc_gateway_ideal: Failed to create Mollie payment object for order 11735: Error executing API call (422: Unprocessable Entity): The payment method selected does not accept recurring payments. Field: method."

    After doing some more research we can’t find Mollie Payments on the following page: https://docs.woocommerce.com/document/subscriptions/payment-gateways/

    We also found this page, where it states that the plugin does support Woocommerce Subscriptions, but it doesn’t list iDEAL here as payment option: “These payments are processed via credit card or SEPA Direct Debit (whichever payment method has a valid mandate).”

    At this point we’re a bit confused on how to approach this problem. Is it possible to get subscriptions to work with iDEAL using this plugin?

  • We’ve come across this error message with the Pronamic Pay plugin in the past. Could it be that the SEPA Direct Debit payment method is not yet activated in your Mollie account?

    The first payment uses the iDEAL method, but the recurring payments use SEPA Direct Debit. Therefore, SEPA Direct Debit needs to be activated in your Mollie account too, to be able to start the first payment.

    Thank you for the reply! SEPA Direct Debit was indeed turned off in our Mollie account. We have turned this on now but it can take a while before Mollie processes this request.

    Once this has happened we will test again and come back to you! It sounds very logical and promising, so thanks in advance!
