Some site managers may have intentionally given subscribers the edit_posts capability, and as of 2.2.12, this plugin brute-force removes that capability on every admin_init load.

Seems a bit heavy-handed. Surely this plugin should have its own set of capabilities and not be concerning itself with the edit_posts capability. But I imagine this issue is what throws a wrench in that.

A couple commenters seem to offer potential workarounds. Maybe something that could be implemented in this plugin.

Did you send message to a wrong forum?

User Role Editor has version 4.59 and it is 4.+ about 8 years already. More, it never revoked automatically any capability from any role.

@shinephp oof yes I did, sorry about that! This is the plugin that was _impacted_ by the other one, heh.
