    Hi there

I’ve been asked to manage this site and create a forum using BBPress. When a Subscriber logs in and goes to the Dashboard, they are able to access the Keyring: Service Connections under the Tools menu. What does this allow them to do? Is it something I would need to remove access to in terms of keeping the site more secure? Is there a way to remove this option from the Tools menu for Subscribers?

The page I need help with: [log in to see the link]

As a subscriber they won’t really be able to do anything, unless you’ve configured services within Keyring, and then they’d be able to create connections to those services (e.g. Facebook or Twitter or whatever).

They can’t configure new services, or remove them, or anything like that.

If you don’t need subscribers to have access to creating connections, then you might want to unhook the UI and lock it down a bit tighter. Depending on how you’re using the UI for anyone else, you can set the KEYRING__HEADLESS_MODE constant to true, but that will hide the entire UI for all users/roles.

If you need the UI for some folks, but specifically not for subscribers…

Then you’re currently going to need to write some custom code that executes specifically for Subscribers (and not Admins or others), which removes the menu item.

OK, thanks for the quick reply. Yes, there is an EventBrite connection set up using Keyring (not too sure how all of this aspect works, to be honest!). I think the site owner would prefer people not to be able to see any of that, so I’ll look into another solution.

    Thanks again
