    Hi there,

    I recently updated all of our blog themes and plugins.
    I’ve since noticed that our ‘Subscribe’ widget in sidebar is not working – when a potential subscriber enters their email address and clicks ‘Subscribe’ it goes to our default ‘Contact Page’ and does not add their email to subscribers. I’ve gone through a few FAQ and forums and not managed to find a solution that works (or that I understand… I’m am not literate at all in coding/wordpress -a total beginner managing our blog as part of my job role)

    I don’t know how long this hasn’t been working (i.e. whether it was before or after updates) but I only just got a complaint through from a potential subscriber this morning so presume it’s occurred after the updates but can’t be certain.

    Any suggestions?

    Many Thanks

    Ruth

    @ruth,

    It is likely that the widget input is not being processed because the Subscribe2 is not available on your ‘contacts’ page. Is the widget in the sidebar on that page? Have you place the Subscribe2 shortcode in the page content?

    Thanks so much your reply! It’s possible that when the updates were made the short code wasn’t added again so I’ll check this now. Where can I find the ‘short code’ I need to add?

    Thanks again,

    @ruth,

    Glad you got it working – it was possibly a change of theme that broke things. I’m glad it’s now working.
