  • Anyone down any reviews or breakdowns on the pros and cons of adding the subscriber2 plugin and having people sing up on your site vs sending them to feedburner?

  • I’ve used both. Both work, although subscribe2 has occasionally had difficulties when upgrading WP. I use FeedBurner now as a result.

Also, my host isn’t very good, so subscribe2 would sometimes drop emails. But FeedBurner sends very reliably.

I use both. Feedburner more reliable. Sometimes subscribe email is duplicated (wordpress cron issue). Feedburner pre-formatted, nicer looking. Also have lots of spam emails in subscribe2. If feedburner would let me opt-in subscibers, I’d discontinue subscribe2.

I just wanted to add that I decided to use Feedburner today after figuring out that Subscribe2 was responsible for my 500 server errors. I think it’s a good plugin, and I think my host was the problem (see this comment), but as it’s not feasible for me to change hosts right now, and I can get Feedburner to do the same thing, I decided to go with Feedburner.
