# [subscribe2] login

 * Purchased the subscribe2 guide and still have the most basic question… how does
   a returning subscriber login?
 * I have added plug-in’s that allow for login but they all want user name and password.
 * Scenario. User clicks on subscribe (either in page or in widget). They get an
   email asking them to validate that subscription.
 * If they don’t do it then and there, leave the site, flush their cookies etc. 
   they come back and there is nothing to prompt them to login. Only thing the system
   has is an email and that’s not a login criteria that I can find.
 * If they respond to the email, it takes them to the designated page and the profile
   link is highlighted [theme dependent on look]. From there they can choose their
   categories etc. At this point they are a confirmed subscriber. Same scenario…
   they go fishing, come back, how do they visit their profile? What am I missing?
   It’s the big outstanding issue for me right now.

 * I think you are still confusing Registered and Public subscribers.
 * Anyone who enters their email address on the form becomes a public subscriber
   after clicking the confirm link in the email. Anyone who registers gets a login
   and password to the WordPress administration area. If these Registered users 
   try to subscribe again using the form the plugin detects that they are Registered
   and prompts them to log in.
