The subscribe to my posts and get email when new post is published is missing from my sidebar, only the text shows.

It seems that my wp.com site which was created in 2008 has disappeared I dont have login details for it, in fact I forgot it existed.

A technician expert on WP told me that Jetpack was not connecting because of the missing WP.com site.-

How can I get back my subscribers and the widget. Would adding a plugin pick up on the current subscribers. Please help

It looks like you’ve added a Text widget to the sidebar where that is appearing.

If you want people to be able to subscribe to your site, you can add a Jetpack Subscribe Block to your sidebar instead. You can find instructions for that here:
